Kitchen Cabinets

As the name already said – kitchen cabinets are pieces of furniture used in the kitchen. Cabinets are used to store dishes, utensils, food, etc. and are arranged around the wall area of a kitchen. Thy can come in variety of sizes and can consist of only one cabinet or come in a kit consisting of various pieces of furniture.

There are two main types of kitchen cabinets, they are: face framed cabinets and frameless cabinets, the latter is sometimes also referred to as "European-style" cabinets.

As you begin to shop for kitchen cabinets, you'll discover a nearly overwhelming variety: laminates, hardwoods, veneers, lacquered finishes and much more in hundreds of different styles, configurations and sizes. You'll find ready-to-assemble cabinets that can outfit a kitchen for a quite small sum of money and high-end cabinets that may cost more than many houses. The styles used typically range from contemporary laminates to traditional hardwoods like oak and cherry, some producers also offer several finishes on natural woods.

To make the right decision while buying a kitchen cabinet be sure you know, what you are looking for. Look closely at your floor plan and find out what type and size cabinet would be the most functional for your home.

In 1985 we expanded our kitchen and bought all new Riviera European style cabinets, of the frame style (not panel style) framing. We really like the quality of the cabinets, and plan to keep using them for decades to come. Do you sell, or can you tell me where to buy, new hardward for the drawers? There were 7 drawers, and the rollers are now wearing out on the drawer hardward, so I need to replace the drawer slides. The drawer glides use under-mound drawer slides. The drawers are real wood, and have 1/8" spacing on either side between the drawer and cabinet framing. The bottom panel of the drawer is 3/8" higher than the bottom edge of the drawer sides, and 3/8" spacing between the bottom edge of the drawer sides and the cabinet framing. The drawer length is 20", and the support rail from front of the cabinet frame and the rear of the cabinet is 23 1/2". I can modify the drawer and framing is need be, but not as much as would be needed by any of the drawer slides that I have found so far. Perhaps you may still stock those drawer slides. I need 7 sets. Or if not, maybe you could give me the name of a drawer hardware manufacturer that would have them. Thank You

In 1988 we installed Riviera Saturn Melamine cabinets in Almond. While doing some repair work under the sink a cabinet door was kicked back and the hinge hardware popped out. We repaired it and rehung but is t is not holding. Is there any way to find a replacement door? (20 years, I know!).

We remodeled with Rivera cabinets in 1989. We are doing an update to put a 36" microwave with exhaust fan above our Jenn Air downdraft range. Do you make a 15" X 36" cabinet we could put above the microwave? Our door style is Country Squire and the finish is nutmeg. I found no local sales outlets for Rivera Cabinets.
Also I would like to get the cabinets professionally cleaned without ruining the finish. What do you recommend using?

I need new undermount drawer hardware for my Riveria cabinets. Off the top of my head, it would be about 17 sets. They are very screechy and I have used wax and oil on the tracks to try to get them to work more smoothly and quietly. I also need to get the doors and drawers refinished but that can be done locally. Thank you for information.

In 1988 I undertook remodeling my kitchen. I ordered all the cabinets from Riveria. The cabinets didn't arrive when they were supposed to and didn't arrive until 10 days after they were supposed to. Meanwhile, I had already torn out the entire room, expecting Riveria to deliver as promised.

When the cabinets arrived, a couple were damaged. This was more likely the fault of the shipping firm than Rivera, but it took an additional month to get the damaged cabinets replaced.

One of the cabinets, a wine rack/ hanging cabinet combination, was returned to Riveria twice. The cabinets were supposed to be a beautiful Honey Oak, but this one had been exposed to overspray that appeared to be an antique white. There were spots of this garbage all over the cabinet.
I don't know if Riviera re-shipped that same cabinet to me or not, but the second wine rack/cabinet arrived with a suspiciously familiar white overspray all over it. I wish I had taken photographs of the first cabinet I returned to them because I strongly suspected it to be the same one I got again.

Riviera showed me no kind of expedience when handling the problems i had. The job I expected to last 3 weeks stretched out to two and a half months, largely because Riviera took it's sweet time attending to these damaged units. One of the other damaged cabinets, mentioned previously, was the sink base. Until they finally got around to replacing this cabinet, our dishes were being washed in a bathtub.

I am redoing a section of my kitchen and need to replace one section of my riviera cabinets. They were purchased in Nov. 1990 and the touch stain is called nutmeg so I am guessing that is the color of the finish. They are oak with the arch on the top and bottom panels of the doors. The cabinet is 36" wide, 30" long and 12" deep. I want the two long doors on the front. I also need a shorter cabinet above my refrigerator to accomadate a new refrigerator. Is it still possible to get something like this? I could send a picture iff needed.

We built our new home in 1981 installing Riviera Cathederal Oak Kitchen Cabinets. The cabinets have held up very well with the only problem being that the wheels on the drawer glides are now wearing out. I need 1/2 " diameter wheels and 5/8" diameter wheels. Do you stock them or know or a hardware manufacturer that would have them? Thank You.
