What kind of kitchen cabinets go with Knotty Pine wainscoting & trim & builtin china cabinet?
We want to remodel a kitchen but do not want to remove the original Knotty Pine wall-covering. What color or species of wood would match (low budget) I dont want more Knotty Pine--want to market & sell to young/hip professionals I was thinking Red? or Dark? It is also a small kitchen.
Answer: Sometimes a nice contrast between two wood colors/types can turn out really well but it could also turn out hideous. I dont think I would go with anything red as the pine doesnt really have any red in it. Maybe look at the grain of the pine and match the darker color of that. Go with a similiar type of cabinet as well. If the china cabinet has a certain style to it try to stay close to that.
