What material can I use to glue as black trim on a white kitchen cabinet?

I just repainted my stained kitchen cabinets white (by sanding, priming and painting) and I wish to change the trim to black (we are doing a 50's kitchen.) Any ideas on what material I can use to glue to the cabinets?
Thanks.

Answer:
for 50's try Formica...you can buy edging strips or it cuts and snaps off with a Formica razor cutter. Or find a wall paper and cut it to size? Cover it with a good clear sealant so it doesn't damage from high use.

When I redid my motor home to '50's I used a brushed aluminum (triangle) "tile" that had a peel off backing. I found it on the Internet.
