How do I keep my cat off the kitchen cabinet?

I have tried everything including spraying her with the sink sprayer but you can see how much she cares:

Is it even worth it anymore or should I just live with her being up there and resign myself to the lost counter space?
I already tried in addition to the kitchen sprayer: spray bottle, rattling plastic bags, coffee can full of change and hot pepper juice.

Answer:
Most likely the problem is that you can not realistically spray her or rattle cans EVERY time she gets on the counter. You aren't around your kitchen 100% of the time, so she is only punished when you are there and available to do something about it.

*Put two-sided tape on your counter. Yes, this will result in lost counter space for a few days, but eventually she will learn not to jump up there, because no cat is going to lay on sticky tape. (Be sure to put a piece of plastic or string or something on the edges of the tape so you can easily get it off later)

*Leave one of those cheap aluminium cake pans on your counter and fill it with marbles. This way, there will be a loud rattling noise EVERY TIME s/he jumps on the counter, not just when you are around. Also, she may be less likely to jump up there in the first place if there is something in her way

*Have a training session. Open a can of tuna or something and put it on the counter. Then stand by the counter, and every time she jumps up on the counter, shout "NO!" or her name, and shove her off. If she sits on the floor and looks at you/meows for the tuna without trying to get on the counter, give her a little bit of it. Repeat several times until she is sitting more than jumping. This could take some time, and you will probably have to do it more than once.

*Only allow her in the kitchen when you are there, so that you can shove her off of the counter and shout her name or shout no, EVERY TIME she gets on the counter.

Even after doing these, she will probably occasionally try to get on the counter, but be firm and push her off, tell her NO or shout her name. If you want to get rid of a behavior, it has to be punished EVERY TIME that it happens.

Never ever ever ever give her positive attention or pet her while she is on the counter. Doing this would reward her for the behavior that you are trying to get rid of.

Our cats were not quite so stubborn, and they learned that they were not to go on the counters after we pushed them off a few times, but it sounds like you are going to need more than that for your cat. She is very adorable, by the way.

I hope this helps, good luck!
