Is it possible to sand down wood cabinet doors...?
that have a coat of polyurethane, wood putty, joint compound and paint on them ( in that order) already?
Now that we painted them they have a bubbly texture so I would like to know if they can be sanded down to the original wood and then painted.
What would be the right process to get a smooth texture?

Answer: yes , sand well starting with course, then fine sand paper. use a tack cloth before priming and painting. i HIGHLY recommend spraying the primer and paint on to get the best finish. if you must roll it, us a high quality roller made for SMOOTH surfaces, and use a conditioner in your paint for self leveling purposes.
