Why does my cat slam cabinet doors?

My psycho 3-year-old kitty(i addopted her from the humane society when she was about a year old) likes to slam the cabinet doors in the kitchen and the bathroom, scaring the crap out of me in the middle of the night. She only does this at night. For now, I just open up all the cabinet doors before I go to bed so she can't slam them. But sometimes, I do forget and still get woken up. Why does she do this? Anyone have a clue?

Answer:
For some reason, cats like to make noise. An empty paper bag on the floor is a party to my cats; they seem to try to outdo each other in the noise department. They seem to enjoy knocking stuff off of cabinets and shelves, too. Probably boredom causing the knocking stuff down. But they do seem to like making noise.

Slamming the doors while you're asleep, sounds like she wants attention. Is she getting enough from you? My cats get a lot of attention during the day; they're quiet at night, mostly sleeping through the night.
