Why does my dog hide in the bathroom and in cabinets and my closet?

He's a pomeranian, and he just got his haircut real short because he has hives on his legs and bum. Why would that make him want to be alone? He's just been acting weird ever since we got him back from the vet/doctor.
We live in florida, so I don't think he's cold. And that's also why we shaved him. He's also been shaved before, and this is the first time he's acted this way.

Answer:
Well, he does like dark places. I could be possible that he feels ashamed of his haircut and feels he did something wrong to deserve it. Talk to him, pet him and reassure him that everything is ok. I don't think he understands that you had him shaved there to help him feel better. Believe or not, sometimes they are just like people; they need to be told that everything is going to be alright.

The other thing is that he had a bad experience there that has traumatized him.
